The Liverpool legend has said that he has seen enough of Nunez to think that the striker would be massive for Liverpool and would be “an outstanding success” at Anfield.
The 23-year-old joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer transfer window.
The striker was a key player in Liverpool’s win against Premier League rivals Manchester City in the FA Community Shield last weekend.
GRAEME SOUNESS ON LIVERPOOL, STRIKER DARWIN NUNEZ
Souness said about Nunez on talkSPORT (9:42am, August 5, 2022): “The boy, Nunez, I think he will be an outstanding success. In terms of his size and he wants to run forward without the ball, I think he would be a great addition.”
BIG PLAYER FOR THE REDS
In our view, Darwin Nunez is a great signing for Liverpool and will make the Reds better.
The 23-year-old will play down the middle of the front-three with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz on the flanks.
As we saw against Manchester City, the 23-year-old works hard for the team, runs at defenders, and is able to stretch out defences.
Nunez has brilliant movement which will cause opposition Premier League defenders all sorts of problems.
And he can score as well.
The youngster scored 26 goals and gave four assists in the Portuguese league for Benfica last season.
